The Dalton Culinary Review, Volume 1, Issue 1, 2011
The “2011 Food Symposium” was the main focus of this high school student publication including an overview of the event and descriptions of the speakers. There are also articles covering food related topics including sustainable agriculture, how the Dalton community eats at home, and a recipe for Moroccan chicken stew.
The Dalton Voice, January 12, 1982-November 1982
Published in 1982, this weekly high school student newspaper included news articles, coming events, editorials, essays, short stories, and poetry. “The Dalton Voice is for all students who would just like to enjoy the power of writing, the personal pleasure of putting pen to paper.”
The Last Word: A Commentary on Dalton Life, Issue #1, November 1994
Senior high school students with an interest in writing, debate, and commentary, created The Last Word. “The Last Word takes issues involving the Dalton community and comments on them.” The inaugural issue, November 1994, is the only issue in the collection.
The Linguist, 1966-1968, undated
The Linguist was a publication of the high school student Linguist Committee in the late 1960s. The publication features articles, creative writing, poetry, interviews, puzzles, and recipes written in French, Spanish, Russian, or Latin. Original student writing as well as English translations of published work is included. Many of the articles are illustrated with student drawings.
The Odd Man Out: A Holier Than thou Publication, Vol. 1, No. 1, February 12, 1991
The Odd Man Out was a single-issue student publication. The anonymous editors’ goal was to point out educational and administrative problems they saw at Dalton and to elicit discussions about those problems.
Trio, 1962-1965
Trio is a compilation of written work by students studying French, Spanish, and Latin languages. The work includes fiction, letters, translations, biographies and suggested reading lists.
Wrapping Paper, undated (circa 1975-1976)
The inaugural issue of Wrapping Paper was published on April 9, 1974. A mimeographed student newspaper, it was conceived as an alternative to the long established student newspaper, The Daltonian. It included editorials, opinion pieces, news reports, poetry, and puzzles. The Archives collection of Wrapping Paper consists of 5 issues from 1975
