“The roots of The Left Bank come out of the growing dissatisfaction with the war in Vietnam and the racial turmoil in America.” This high school student newspaper was a journal of opinion designed as an answer to “the unwillingness of the Daltonian to publish anything of a highly controversial nature. “ Unlike The Daltonian, it was not an official student publication of the Dalton School. The inaugural issue is the only issue in the collection.

The Linguist, 1966-1968, undated
The Linguist was a publication of the high school student Linguist Committee in the late 1960s. The publication features articles, creative writing, poetry, interviews, puzzles, and recipes written in French, Spanish, Russian, or Latin. Original student writing as well as English translations of published work is included. Many of the articles are illustrated with student drawings.

The Odd Man Out was a single-issue student publication. The anonymous editors’ goal was to point out educational and administrative problems they saw at Dalton and to elicit discussions about those problems.
